Art Week 2017 was a blast!

Art Week is an annual event held by Student Board of Prasetiya Mulya, and this year’s event was held on June 1st until June 4th 2017. What’s different from last year is that this year, Art Week now has gone external. it took place at The Breeze, BSD city. About 30 artworks from Indonesian Artists were showcased, in all kinds of forms such as installations, paintings, and even photographs.

On June 1st, Art Week 2017 are open to VIPs. the VIPs are given the privilege to attend the press conference, and the grand opening of this year’s art exhibition, Manakartala. After given the light bites, VIPs are allowed to proceed into the exhibition and take photos before anyone could. An appreciation was awarded to artist who had the best artwork displayed. To end the night, Mantra Vurtura perform their song, followed by Artificial Music and Arick Ahong.

Emilia Tania, chairman of Art Week 2017 stated even though a lot of things was expected from Art Week 2017, they have reached them gracefully and even beyond them. Prasmulyan should be proud because this year’s Art Week were external, whereas all the predecessor were internal. A lot of hard work was put into Art Week 2017, and the committees are very proud of it. Emilia also stated her  hope for next year’s event, “We hope that through Art Week 2018, more people can see art more than just the visual, but also the meaning behind the artwork itself.”

It was a success. A lot of influencer and celebrities such as Kallula Harsynta, Takun Arrosid, Keenan Pearce, Gianni Fujri, Dipha Barus, Olive Leonartha, Bill Satya, Agatha Priscilla, and Ben Sihombing came to support Art Week 2017, and a lot of people came to appreciate the arts displayed. For about a week, photos taken in Art Week 2017 was trending on Instagram. It was something that is hard to achieve, and we should be proud of it, as part of Prasmulyan.

At last, Art Week 2017 exhibition has come to an end. It has been said that Art Week 2017 was visited by total 3.372 people.

We can expect great things for Art Week 2018, seeing that Art Week 2017 was huge success.
